A winter wedding at the gorgeous Southend Barns
What a beautiful day to shoot a beautiful couple at a beautiful wedding! We are always a little excited about a winter wedding – will we be able to feel our fingers, will the groom have a red nose!
We were overwhelmed with photo type opportunity with these two – Michelle and Peter are such a photogenic and obviously crazy in love couple that the cold fingers seemed a distant memory!
Southend Barns was the setting – yes we’ve blogged them before but, come on, just look at this place! Stunning setting, wonderful food, staff that just fall over backwards with congeniality and a backdrop that made our cameras drool!
Michelle got married in the venues lush Bridal suite whilst Peter met up with his entourage at the venues sister site The Blacksmiths Arms’. Rod had fun with the boys, all rugby players so you can imagine the shenanigans that they got up to in the preps. Whilst Julie joined the girls for a somewhat more subtle morning!
The day went swimmingly and guests ‘swanned’ (is that a word?) around the place admiring every single detail that the couple had cleverly worked out. Food was supplied and despatched to the glorious tables by the very talented Field and Fork to the sounds of oohs and aaahs and nom nom as the friends and family tucked in.
Despite the light drawing in early, plenty of time to sneak away and use the beautiful grounds at sunset for some dreamy romance shots – like you do! The happy couple needed no prompting here as they are so clearly in love!
Big band time for choreographed First Dance (well done you two) followed by lots of obligatory, embarrassing dancing with relatives and nutty friends1
Quite a day and not one sign of frostbite on the digits – hooray!
