We first heard about this beautiful venue through Emprical Events who invited us along to meet potential wedding clients at their first wedding fayre there. We immediately ‘Googled’ it (as you do) and were very impressed so said “YES PLEASE”!
Fast forward a couple of weeks and we are pulling into the drive with the car over-laden with albums, props and general wedding fayre stand paraphernalia jangling about in the boot. Well – Google certainly didn’t do this place justice!! What an amazing sight we were greeted with as we rumbled up the long gravel drive through all sorts of magical looking trees to the vision of the Manor house itself! Recently restored to it’s former glory, Folkington now plays host for couples to live out their dream day amongst the rolling, manicured lawns and features that surround the stunning buildings.
A large, stunningly beautiful marquee was set out on the lawns adjacent to a nearby lake and exhibitors were hustling about in readiness for the throng of visitors that were to pass through during the day. The weather was mild but blustery and those amazing trees rustled to and fro as the staff ushered couples and their cars to the cleverly thought out parking areas. Our stand was up and ready to go and so the doors lay open.
Amongst the many exhibitors were cakey delights, wonderfully decadent limousines, sparkling jewellery, soft melodies and upbeat disco sounds, happy snappy photogs (incl. us of course), videographers and photobooths, gorgeous lighting and room decor, suits and dresses, everso scrummy food and even a Magician (how did he do that to my card??), a travel expert and a Toast Master…phew!!
The fashion show flowed wonderfully as the gorgeous models elegantly drifted around the beautifully decorated Flint Barn to the sound of music dressed in some of the nicest gowns and Bridesmaids dresses that we have seen – including our favourite that even had pockets that allowed the Bride to swish her dress in a flirty, showey-offey fashion.
We nattered to loads of happy couples, some of which were newly engaged and doey eyed, and some who were hardened, steely eyed wedding fayre experts keen to grab last minute bargains! Jacquie Brunjes, Folkingtons Lady in Residence, even made an appearance and took time to move around the marquee chatting to exhibitors and guests.
So that’s it – a lovely way to spend a Sunday. As with anything though, the packing up and saying goodbye was the hard bit!

These photos are amazing! It was great to meet you and see you at work, the girls carry the ‘body bag’ across the grass was such a great example of you making the most of a spontaneous situation. I found the picture from Rachel and Nick’s wedding I mentioned; it’s about 3/4 of the way down this page: https://www.paladinsclassiccars.co.uk/as-featured-in/
Thanks Marcus. Great to catch up again.
