Thinking about Wedding Breakfast ideas to ‘Spice’ up the evening? Then how about Spiced rum cocktails from your very own rum bar!
Couples should be prepared to bid farewell to gin and say hello to rum, that’s what we think: “rum is incredible in the summer and I can see rum carts being a big fixture at the 2019 wedding.” Yay!
Food and drink is now the area where couples overspend most especially for the wedding breakfast, according to Bridebook, which puts the average spend at £5,862, up from £4,727 in 2017, and this year it’s all about “hyper-personalisation” of every last detail, especially the menus.
Kilner drinks decanters can be made up with your very own version of Rum Cocktail so that they’re on tap for your guests! Brands like Kraken and Rumbulion are leading the way with new small batch rum distillers appearing all the time – we know as we have our own rum bar and are always on the hunt.
For the long summer evenings how about creating a bespoke Rum and Cigar bar – especially for the boys of course. Two barrels, a couple of scaffold board, some crates and fairy lights plus 3 or 4 giant kilner style dispensers. Fill these with your own particular take on the favourites like ‘dark ‘n stormy’ and label them up. A couple of boxes of cigars. Some cool jazz and some tatty old sofas.
Or, if you can’t create your own bar and are tied to the venues, then ask them to help you create a cocktail list and place it on the bar to tempt the guests. The bar will be grateful for ideas.
Now that would be just perfect…or is that just me?
